Through the Alliance for Inclusive Health, alongside @virginiamasonfranciscanhealth, we are working to expand access to clinics that meet athletes where they are and provide care that truly supports them. The @uofwa has been named a National Banner Unified Champion College, the first in the state to earn this recognition. This means UW is creating real opportunities for students with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities to learn, lead, and compete together. Their team assembled 420 snack bags for athletes and included handwritten encouragement cards in each one. It’s a simple gesture that goes a long way on competition day.
