Call for Fitness Captain Nominations!

What: A Fitness Captain will work closely with their coaches to help ensure health and fitness is a key component of the sports experience. During the training, the athlete will learn skills and gain knowledge that will allow them to lead their sports team in activities related to fitness and a healthy lifestyle. Some examples include: leading warmups, cool downs, and providing health tips at each practice.

How: An athlete must receive a nomination from their sports coach or Program staff to be trained as a Fitness Captain. They must also complete the two core training module trainings: Introduction to Athlete Leadership and Understanding Leadership prior to the training session.

Who: Someone who shows interest in leadership and a passion for fitness and a healthy lifestyle.

When: July 21st and 22nd from 4:00-5:30 pm.

* Health Messengers are not Fitness Captains, and vice versa. However, any current Health Messengers are encouraged to take the training.
