We couldn’t be prouder!

Special Olympics Washington athletes Jennifer Lonn and Joseph Warner just returned from the 2025 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Turin, Italy — and they brought the heat to the snow-covered competition!

Jennifer Lonn showed the world what determination and heart look like. She raced her way to two bronze medals in the 5K and 7.5K Free Cross Country Skiing, then joined her teammates in the 4×100 relay, bringing home a silver medal. Her strength, focus, and relentless spirit were on full display in every stride.

Joseph Warner absolutely crushed it on the slopes, earning silver medals in both the Snowboarding Giant Slalom and Super G. He also placed 5th in Slalom, showing off his versatility and skill across events. Joseph’s performance was nothing short of amazing — and his excitement lit up the Games.

But the celebration doesn’t stop there.

Representing not only Special Olympics Washington but also the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) community, Officer Donovan Heavener had the distinct honor of carrying the Flame of Hope across Italy. Alongside fellow officers and athletes from around the globe, Donovan helped share a powerful message of inclusion, unity, and the strength of the human spirit — a true symbol of what Special Olympics is all about.

These three didn’t just compete — they inspired.

From snowy trails to global ceremonies, Jennifer, Joseph, and Donovan showed the world what it means to lead with courage, compete with heart, and represent your community with pride.

Congratulations, Team Washington!
