Flame of Hope – on its way through Austria
During the Final Leg of the torch run ten days before the start of the Games over 120 law enforcement officers from around the world will carry the Olympic flame from Bregenz (Vorarlberg) through 50 towns and municipalities located in all Austrian provinces.
Special Olympics Washington Guardian of the Flame: Mikeal Suniga
Special Olympics Washington is excited to be sending Airway Heights Polar Officer Mikeal Suniga to represent Washington LETR during the Final Leg.
Officer Suniga has been involved with the Torch Run Campaign for over ten years, and prior to that was a Unified Athlete. He serves as an Assistant Director on the Washington Law Enforcement Torch Run Executive Council, super plunges each year, helps to organize and facilitate events such as Tip-A-Cops, Fill-The-Cones, Cops on Top, Runs and more.
