Join us as we celebrate the incredible achievements of our athletes at the 2025 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Turin! This prestigious event will bring together athletes from across the globe to compete in various winter sports, showcasing the power of inclusion and athleticism.

Selected Athletes

We are proud to announce the athletes representing Washington at the 2025 World Games:

  • Jennifer Lonn, from Seattle, has been a part of Special Olympics for over 40 years, competing in more than 10 sports. She’s set to represent Special Olympics USA in cross country skiing at the Special Olympics World Games Turin 2025! Jennifer has gained confidence, improved her social skills, and made lifelong friends through Special Olympics. When she’s not training, you can find her working at Costco, where she’s been employed for over 20 years, or enjoying her love for all things Disney. Jennifer describes herself as fun, friendly, and hardworking, and she’s thrilled to be living her dream of competing on the world stage.
  • Joseph Warner, hailing from Spokane Valley, has been a Special Olympics athlete for 13 years, excelling in multiple sports and taking on leadership roles. He will represent Special Olympics USA in snowboarding at the World Winter Games Turin 2025! Joseph’s journey with Special Olympics has allowed him to make new friends, travel, and develop his social skills. He’s also a passionate music collector, with a collection of around 2,000 cassette tapes, and works at UPS. Joseph is dedicated to his training, hitting the mountain and lifting weights to prepare for Italy. He’s excited to represent his family and community on the international stage.

These athletes have demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and sportsmanship in their respective sports. Their selection was based on their outstanding performances at local, state, and national levels, following a rigorous selection process.

About the Games

 

The 2025 Special Olympics World Winter Games will take place from March 7-14 in Torino, Italy. The event will feature competitions in alpine skiing, snowboarding, figure skating, cross-country skiing, and more. Over 2,000 athletes from

more than 100 countries will participate, making this a global celebration of inclusion, sports, and unity.

Our athletes will not only compete at the highest level but also take part in cultural exchange programs, leadership forums, and various health initiatives.
