State Director
Officer Patrick Gilbert | Fife Police Department
Email
My name is Officer Patrick Gilbert with the Fife Police Department, where I have been the last 12 years. I have been an officer in Washington state for 17 years total. I have been involved in the LETR campaign for the last 12 years. I became a Regional Coordinator and then moved into the Co-Director West position for a short time before taking on the role of State Director in January 2023.
While working as the SRO with the Fife School District, I was able to get involved with the Unified program and several other programs in the district. I have also started the Hoopin’ 4 Heroes event, an annual charity basketball game which has been held for 7 years. For the last 4 years, we have also run the Fife PD charity golf tournament as well as participated in a variety of other LETR events. With the help of the school district and Police Department, I have helped to raise over $50,000 for the LETR campaign.
Like my Hoopin’ 4 Heroes motto, the Special Olympics Washington athletes are my heroes, and watching them grow or achieve their goals is incredibly fulfilling.
