Dear friends and supporters,

As I wrap up my first 90 days as the new Senior Vice President of Marketing and Development at Special Olympics Washington, I want to take a moment to reflect on this exciting new chapter. After more than nine years with Special Olympics Oregon, I’m thrilled to now call Seattle home. Seattle is a wonderful city and one that truly embodies the spirit of community and inclusion that fuels our mission.

It’s been a wonderful Seattle summer, exploring new neighborhoods, meeting incredible people, and diving headfirst (pun intended!) into preparations for one of Special Olympics Washington’s 51st year.

I’m so excited to share that Polar Plunge 2026 registration is officially LIVE!!! This year, we’re taking things to a whole new level with the Seattle Super Plunge, a 24 HOUR PLUNGE EXPERIENCE, and a brand-new 5K run for all our athletes and supporters who love a challenge before they take the plunge!

The Polar Plunge is more than just a fundraising event.

It’s a CELEBRATION of courage, community, and inclusion (By the way, we actually do have costume contests in case you didn’t know!)

Every plunge and every dollar raised helps empower athletes with intellectual disabilities to discover their strengths and shine both on and off the field.

We can’t wait to see you out there, whether you’re plunging, running, cheering, or donating, you’re part of something extraordinary.

Together, we’ll make 2026 our boldest, coldest, and most impactful year yet.
