Throughout 2026, Special Olympics Washington athletes and Unified partners came together to reimagine what Athlete Leadership could look like across our state. Their work became the Champions’ Blueprint, a set of recommendations designed to create more opportunities for athletes to build skills, lead in their communities and have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect them. Football, teamwork and plenty of cheers in Clarkst Football, teamwork and plenty of cheers in Clarkston! On August 29, Twin River Special Olympics athletes took the field at Clarkston High School for a football camp led by Gene Straughan of Air It Out Football Academy, with support from players and coaches from the Lewis-Clark Valley Loggers! Athletes had the chance to learn new skills, connect with their teammates and enjoy an evening on the field. A big thank you to Gene, Air It Out Football Academy and the L-C Valley Loggers for sharing their time and love of the game with our athletes!
