Sometimes the most meaningful victories don’t show Sometimes the most meaningful victories don’t show up in the results. After a difficult experience earlier this season, Special Olympics Washington athlete, Les arrived at State Spring Games determined to compete again. During the 200M walk, his teammate Brandon stayed by his side every step of the way, making sure his friend felt safe, supported, and confident. As they neared the finish line, Brandon slowed down so Les could finish first. Later, Brandon explained that helping his friend regain his confidence was more important than winning. Congratulations to Les and Brandon for showing all of us what it truly means to be teammates!
