A strong showing for Washington on an international stage! Special Olympics Washington athlete Kyle Kennedy and Unified partner Dave Kennedy earned seventh place in Unified Doubles at the 2026 Topgolf Invitational Tournament.
Kyle scored 590 points and Dave scored 720, bringing their average score to 655 and securing their spot among the tournament’s top 10 Unified pairs.
The third annual Invitational welcomed athletes and Unified partners from around the world, with 987 total registrations across 18 Special Olympics Programs and 30 venues. Participation grew by 29% this year, creating even more opportunities for athletes to compete and connect through golf.
Unified Doubles brings together a Special Olympics athlete and a partner without an intellectual disability, with their scores averaged to determine the pair’s final result. It’s a chance to put teamwork into action, celebrate each other’s strengths and build connections through sport.
Congratulations to Kyle and Dave on this exciting achievement! Thank you to every athlete, Unified partner, coach and volunteer who helped represent Washington, and to Topgolf for creating opportunities for athletes of all abilities to play and compete together.
